The NIMBUS Centre for Embedded Systems Research at Cork Institute of Technology, Ireland is seeking a highly motivated assistant interested in working within a world class research group in the area of embedded wireless networking. The assistant will contribute to wireless sensor network test-bed and experimental development within the NIMBUS Centre through embedded SW development and implementation, test-bed deployment and maintenance, and experimentation support. In particular, the assistant will work in conjunction with the centre’s academic and research staff. Interested candidates must have strong embedded software development expertise, ideally on resource limited hardware. Practical experience of software development on one or more sensor network operating system platforms such as TinyOS, Contiki, or SOS will be a major advantage. Knowledge of and experience with implementation of communication protocols or control applications in embedded systems is desirable. Minimum of a PhD or equivalent research and development experience (including industrial R&D). The equivalent research experience that is required is 4 years fulltime research and development after primary degree. |
