Two POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics (MBB) and the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, Karolinska Institutet, are immediately available for two years with possibility for extension. We are seeking two motivated post-docs to work in a translational program, joining research on regulation of innate immunity with effects on infectious diseases. Position at MBB: The applicant should have a strong background in molecular biology and immunology, but also cell biology. Experience in techniques for gene regulation and signaling pathways in cell-based systems is a prerequisite. The project deals with regulation of induced expression of antimicrobial peptides, including identification of transcription factors involved For further information contact: Birgitta.Agerberth@ki.se Position at Phys/Pharm: The applicant is expected to have a background in cell physiology and immunology preferably in the field of inflammation. Experience with animal models is required and knowledge in cell culture techniques and flow cytometric and biochemical analyses is desirable. The project involves in vivo studies focused on interaction between immune cells and antimicrobial peptides in inflammatory and immune responses. For further information contact: Lennart.Lindbom@ki.se The successful applicants should be able to work independently and take own initiatives but are also expected to interact with each other. Send your application including: 1. CV (incl publication list) 2. A brief outline of previous research activities 3. Two letters of recommendation to: Professor Birgitta Agerberth, Dept. of Med. Biochem. Biophys. (MBB), Chemistry I, Karolinska Institutet, Scheeles väg 2, S-171 77 Stockholm, Sweden or via e-mail: Birgitta.Agerberth@ki.se or: Professor Lennart Lindbom, Department of Physiology and Pharmacology, Karolinska Institutet, S-171 77 Stockholm, Sweden or via e-mail: Lennart.Lindbom@ki.se |
