A postdoctoral fellowship is available in the field of Molecular Plant Physiology and Biotechnology. We investigate the regulation of plant growth and development, in normal and sub-optimal (stress) conditions. Among other lines of research, the role of ascorbate and ascorbate metabolism in plants is addressed in the laboratory. The current project focuses on the physiological and biochemical analysis of putative Arabidopsis mutants in ascorbate metabolism. Experimental approaches include quantitative biochemical analyses (e.g. metabolite chromatography, HPLC, Elisa); molecular analyses (e.g. micro arrays, crossings) and physiological analyses (biomass production, stress responsiveness) of available mutants. Interested candidates should have a PhD in Biological Sciences, considerable laboratory experience, in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
