A postdoctoral fellowship is available at the Meakins-Christie Laboratories, McGill University, for work on the identification of novel signaling pathways for lipid mediators derived from arachidonic acid, which may be involved in pulmonary inflammation and asthma. We are particularly interested in 5-oxo-ETE, a 5-lipoxygenase product that is a potent chemoattractant for human eosinophils and can be formed by a variety of inflammatory and structural cells. The work will involve a variety of approaches, including animal models as well as cell and molecular biology. The salary will be according to CIHR guidelines ($36,750 per year). Applicants should be within 3 years of completing a PhD degree and have experience with cell culture and molecular biological techniques. Experience with animal models would also be an asset.
