Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant in synthetic chemistry to work on an MRC-funded collaborative project between scientists in the School of Biological and Chemical Science and the Blizard Institute of Cell and Molecular Science at Queen Mary University of London. The project is concerned with therapeutics for Alzheimer’s disease and the chemist will be required to synthesise a range of new organic compounds and to develop methods to characterise their metal binding properties in solution under different conditions. Candidates for this position should have a PhD in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience demonstrating excellent skills in synthetic chemistry. This is a full-time, fixed term post available for 18months. The salary is in the range of £30,229 - £33,659 per annum. Benefits include 30 days annual leave and a final salary pension scheme. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the UK in accordance with the Immigration, Asylum and Nationality Act 2006.
