Following a six-year Programme Foundation Award from Cancer Research UK and an EMBO Young Investigator Award, a postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Alessandro Vannini. We are looking for highly motivated and creative Postdoctoral Training Fellow with a strong interest in cancer biology. We currently employ structural biology techniques as well as functional analysis in vitro and in vivo, to elucidate the role of the RNA Polymerase III transcription apparatus in cancer.
This is an ideal opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic scientist to join a dynamic research team with excellent collaborators and facilities. The Postdoctoral Training Fellow will work independently and will have the opportunity to supervise a higher scientific officer in order to establish a comprehensive research plan aimed at uncovering RNA Polymerase III role in cancer and exploit its therapeutic potential (see for example “Gouge et al., Cell 2015”).
You should possess a PhD (or equivalent) in cell biology or related disciplines and have experience with the following techniques: functional genomics via next generation sequencing, genome editing with CRISPR, 3D cell culture and tissue culture/engineering.
Appointment will be on Fixed Term Contract for 3 years in the first instance. The full salary scale for the post is in the range of £29,517 to £42,187 p.a. inclusive. Starting salary will be based on previous postdoctoral experience and relevance of skills.
