Areas of particular interests include genetics, genomics, virology, cloning, FISH, high through put assays.
A postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately for highly motivated scientists to study the signaling basis of human cancers, with a particular focus on the study the role of genomic instability, NF-kB, circulating DNA in clonal evolution of lymphomas and myeloma
We do significant amount of translational studies on both of these diseases using approaches including genetic studies such as high through put sequencing methods, targeted sequencing methods, FISH and in vitro studies including genetic manipulation of mammalian cells, PCR, RT-PCR, immunoprecipitation, flow cytometry. It is a plus if there is some experience in genomic analysis and southernblots. The candidates should at early- mid stage of career (less than two years from graduation), background in Genetics or Virology, must hold a Ph.D. degree. The ideal candidate is a creative, productive and self-motivated individual with the ability to think critically, learn quickly and function independently. Strong basic laboratory skills and good technique are required, and excellent communication skills (verbal and written English) are essential. The person MUST know to a high degree how to do quantitative PCR, PCR, cloning, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, FISH, flow cytometry, cloning and genetic manipulation using lentivirus. It is a plus if there is some experience in genomic analysis and southernblots.
