The work will focus on neural circuits controlling goal-oriented movements in mice (
http://www2.mrc-lmb.cam.ac.uk/group-leaders/t-to-z/marcotripodi/). The project will involve a range of techniques, from recording neural activity in mice in vivo in a virtual reality environment to the use of novel viral approaches to trace and manipulate neural circuits.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in either in-vivo electrophysiology, slice electrophysiology or multiphoton imaging in-vivo and a passion for tinkering with optics and electronics. Experience with programming in Matlab, Python, Lab View and/or other programming environments is desirable. A collaborative, open minded and friendly attitude is essential as the candidate is expected to work closely with other members of the lab within a multidisciplinary research group whose aim is to understand the logic of motor circuit assembly and function.
The research will be conducted at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) in Cambridge, UK (
