    Job Ref: 1550072979

    Salary: Competitive+ excellent benefits
Closing date: Midnight 28th March 2015.

We're currently looking for talented scientists to join our innovative postdoc Program. Associated with the AstraZeneca/Lieber Institute of Brain Development (LIBD) collaboration in Baltimore, MD, USA, you'll be developing real-time assays for neuronal autophagy using the human pluripotent stem cell and cellular imaging resources. The project will incorporate the use of high-content and confocal microscopy, to build and optimize cellular assays with neuronal cells derived from human pluripotent stem cells. Gene editing technologies will be used to engineer iPS cells with characterized mutations in genes associated with neurodevelopmental disorders for use in high-content autophagy assays. There will also be an opportunity to evaluate known compounds that target autophagy as well as AstraZeneca small molecules.

What's more, you'll have the support of a leading academic advisor, who'll provide you with the guidance and knowledge you need to develop your career along with similar support from AstraZeneca scientists. This is an exciting area that hasn't been explored to its full potential, making this an opportunity to make a real difference to the future of medical science.
