The laboratory of tumor and development biology (LBTD) within the GIGA at University of Liege is seeking for a highly motivated and talented international PostDoc to investigate tumor metabolism in resistance to anticancer drugs.
Our lab is interested in lipid metabolism in cancer resistance to therapy and malignancy. One current research focus is the understanding the regulation of fatty acid synthesis and lipid oxydation in cancer and stromal cells during cancer resistance to therapeutics. We have identified a metabolic switch, which is essential to drive the adaptation of cancer cell to anti-angiogenesis inhibitors (Sounni et al., Cell Met. 2014). How this switch integrates with signaling pathways, lipid regulation and origin of adipocytes in tumors is unclear. The proposed project aims to elucidate the mechanism of adipocytes and cancer cell interaction using animal and 3 D culture models and combining them with state-of-the-art imaging technologies.
We have an opening for a creative and highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to strengthen our cancer metabolism team. Experience in vivo and cell imaging, molecular biology, biochemistry and mass spectrometry (MS) is advantageous. Postdoc applicants should have a proven record as successful researcher demonstrated by high impact publications. The successful applicant will join an enthusiastic, creative and collaborative group using interdisciplinary approaches.
To apply please send CV, a research statement and the name and address of 3 referees to: [email protected]
